I have the same problem and I didnt get a remote for the dvd player which if I ever get codes for it, would be needed to unlock it. Live and learn is what I keep telling myself but I will never buy from america again.

1 Push the "setup" button on the remote.
2 With right arrow move cursor to highlight "Preferences" (Do not press "OK" button)
3 Key in code 138931 Region code comes up. Change region code to 0 (zero).
4 Push 'setup" button again. Your DVD player is now region free.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I bought my mum an LG DVD player and some of the DVD's I bought for christmas will not play. I get the message "check regional code" but do not have a password or code to enter. Helena

It sounds like you are trying to play a DVD with a different region code than the player is designed to play. See label on rear/back of player and compare it with the DVD disk paperwork.

Hi i have bought a dvd and comes up saying wrong region how can i fix this

DVD players usually are locked to a Region code and cannot play DVDs from other regions unless the DVD player has its firmware changed to Region Free.
To change your DVD player to Region Free, please check out these WEB sites :-

I bought a movie diff region and i have a dvp1013 canregionchange

DVD's are made in different region codes as they are intended to be played on specific types of DVD players. As far as I am aware there is no way to change the region code of a DVD.

However, your DVD player maybe able to bypass the region code through a type of "hack"; you might search online for your specific DVD player.

A DVD drive on your computer may also be able to play the DVD although you may need to further research specific software players. You should be able to find some freeware that would enable you to play your DVD on your computer assuming your drive can read DVD's.

Another option is to buy a region-free (also known as an all-region) DVD player. Although they are a bit more expensive than a regular DVD player, region-free means you never have to worry about software fixes or trying to reconfigure your current DVD player. Online sellers abound the most well known probably including Amazon and YesAsia (a site that specializes to selling Asian merchandise overseas).

Hope this helps, I was a little vague in places.
Basically you can't change the DVD so much as the DVD player.

Open DVD player to all DVD zones

Here's a few things you can try. Please remember to switch your player off and back on again after each thingy you try^^ It saves it on some memory thingy^^

1) Go to Setup page
2) Preference page
3) Press 138931
4) Press up/down key to select region code

# Turn On unit
# Press the Setup button on the remote
# Navigate to the Preferences page using the Right arrow key
# Press the Down arrow once to enter the Preference page
# Enter 1, 3, 8, 9, 3 and 1 on the remote
# You will now see the current region code displayed
# Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the region required or 0 for all regions
# Press the Play or OK button on the remote

if your zone is not saved to your dvd player. then do not switch the unit off and on again. throughout my experiences most require to do so, but since I don't work with a lot of Philips models I can only hope it helps^^

Good luck and let me know^^

Philips DCP750/37 shows "wrong region"

Australian players are designed only to play Region 4 discs. United States discs are Region 1. It is illegal to change the Region code on a DVD player, so I can't tell you how to do it (ironically, it is the most frequently asked question about dvd players on - global world), but there are videos on YouTube that will show you how to do it - I would just enter "philips region code dvd" as your seacrh term. You won't find that exact model, but one of the codes in the video should work. Note that you will only be able to change the region code three times on a Philips - after that you will be locked out. So change it to Region 1 once, and never change it again.
