I have a problem with a Samsung s500 it has worked finr for 3 years but now it over exposes ( it is stuck on F2.8 )each time I take a picture, although the video function works fine can it be repaired?
It sounds more like a software error than a physical hardware problem.
Worst case scenario would be that the firmware would need to be removed and reloaded by Samsung which would cost about $30-$40 I would think.
Unfortunately , you cannot do this yourself.

- If you think this kind of thing is expensive in the UK try repairing a camera with a broken lens in South Africa. It will wind up costing double the original price of the camera and it WILL break again two days to the second after the 2 month repair warranty runs out! Haha
What camera did you have in mind for a replacement?

My camera lens is stuck. I turned it on, it ran out of battery, it turned off, the lens stayed open, put new batteries in (positively the right way), turned on, blank screen, lens won't shut.
