  • phantomsgurl May 20, 2008

When I plug in my Pearl, it tells me that it's plugged in, but Windows Media Player won't recognize it, and when I bring up the driver, it freezes up or tells me that it is corrupted. I have tried installing the firmware, but nothing helps! I don't know what to do! I didn't used to have a problem, but now it's gone haywire, and it's deleted almost half of my music files!!! HELP!!!

Hello likeapimp,

Both the TH1100 and TH1101 require Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3), Windows XP
(Service Pack 1 or higher) or Windows Vista. All of these OS's will recognize the players without you installing any drivers.

SOURCE: RCA TH1100A turns off

The headphone jack is damaged, and probably interfering with the pwoer supply system of the chip - that mp3 player is toast, b/c the parts you need: A)would cost more than a new one, and B) are no longer available. Wish I had better news.

You can try the soft fixes - reset, firmware upgrade, but they most likely will not work
