Thank you for your post, isaak goldman!

I understand that you are seeking instructions in order to replace the cooktop on your Frigidaire range. However, this is not a simple DIY job. I would recommend having a professional technician come out to ensure that the range is properly disassembled and the cooktop installed correctly to prevent any future issues. When I turn on the coil burner it goes to full hot. Is the problem a rheostat in the the switch or the burner coil?

The switch contacts are burnt and sticking. Very common problem. The model and
serial should be behind the bottom drawer on the (right side for GE). This switch runs
around 45 dollars. I do not recommend using a "universal" as they are just a pain to install and cut the shafts.

One of the dials (the pot) doesn't work anymore. How easy is it to replace for a DIY?

it's called a rheostat -no it is not hard to replace ---open the breaker, of course. write down the wiring if you think necessary---then remove and replace. you might want to check/compare the rheostat to one of the others to verify it as the problem
