The flashing LED is indicative of a failed battery. The battery for a protable system has a expected lifespan of 300 to 500 discharge recharge cycles, then will eventually fail. If you haven't replaced the battery that is the next step. If the battery has been replaced with a NEW battery and still doesn't charge, then the motherboard would need replacement.
