machine takes perhaps 45 min to fill with just hot water. It is not in the wall pipes - we had that checked.

On mine I turned off the water and removed the hose off the machine. I looked at the washer where the hose connects and it has a little screen to filter the incoming water. It was cloged with white stuff. I picked the screen out and cleaned it.
Maybe yours is the same thing.
Also I hooked a garden hose to the supply water and let it run full open to help flush anything from the water line.
