The top half of the screen is black. This is not a contrast issue. I know how to deal with that. It is the top half only.

The most likely answer is that the screen has partly failed.

I cant really read some of the options on the screen on my ti 89....the letters are so blurry......what can i do ?????

Hey shrestha,

I've never seen a calculator with display clarity problems.

The only option I could think to offer you is to attempt to adjust the contrast. However, I'm not sure whether or not your TI-89 actually has an option to change the contrast. Because I own a TI-89 Titanium - and although its a wonderful calculator - it does not allow the user to alter the darkness/brightness of the display.

How do i calculate limits on my Casio fx-115es? Ex. lim x->3 for (x2'-0)/x-3

Sorry, but you cannot calculate limits of functions with this calculator. It does not have a Computer `Algebra System (CAS). For that you need a graphing calculator with CAS: Casio ClassPad 300, 300PLUS, 330, HP 48 GII, HP49 G/ G+, HP 50G, TI-NSPIRE CAS, TI89 Titanium, TI 92/92PLUS, TI Voyage 200 PLT. It is still a very good scientific (non graphing) calculator
However, you can calculate numerical derivatives, and numerical integrals, solve linear and non-linear equations.

Even though this post does meet your expectations, do not let that prevent you from rating it.

Printing off graphs from a calculator

Yes you can transfer everything on you YI92/TI92PLus to your computer.
To connect it you need TIConnect software, and a USB TI Silvercable.
Once the software is installed, you can communicate with your calculator (capture anything on your TI screen as an image to your computer, install applications, transfer programs and so on).

Run TI connect on your calculator.
Draw the graph on your TI 92.
Connect the calculator to the computer.
Click Screen Capture in the TI Connect software window,
It will be store it in your user directory (My Documents ->My TI data)

Hope it helps

My TI-83 is all messed up

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your TI-83. The TI-83 is a discontinued calculator, so I really don't think that it can be repaired/replaced.

See TI's website below for more information:,23871,-1,0,&jtfm0=&etfm1=&jfn=ZGEE602C53EA628B70E47DD2DD6878A5ABD632AD5834DE8ADC18D66ABBC9F888CBF7FB517A0B05B0984776B37370A28975B2

My fell in water any hope

there's not much hope. I would try putting it on top of your drier or by your stove for a couple days. just some place warm where the water can evaporate, however, TI screens don't recover well at all. there's not much hope. Sorry for the bad news good luck though
