My pc no sound but there an icon of audio.

Its quite possible that you have more than one audio output device. Integrated and Non-integrated. 1, make sure audio plug is plugged into the right sound device and port 2, If you updated your sound card or any recent updates from mircrosoft its possible the new drivers will make it seem to work but really they don't. go to start, right click on Computer, go to properties, and then look for the advanced tab (xp), or device manager to the left (vista+ users) go to sound, video and game controllers. right click on the sound device and go to properties, click on driver tab, then roll back drivers. if it says there are no drivers to roll back to.. try the other device if theres 2 audio devices and try to roll back that one.

Can get signal from UA-25 to computer... but no audio from computer to UA-25?

Here is one solution uninstall the default driver or roll back driver. Restart your computer. When you get into windows wait for everything to load and then plug in your audio device. If you have it plugged in when windows starts then it will install a driver. In automatic updates you can select to notify of updates, but lets you install the ones you want.

Thanks for using Fixya

Pls help - my sound card driver is not working properly when i ply files on winmap show a error massege- baddirect sound driver. please instal proper drivers or select another device in configuration....

You can try going into your sound driver and selecting properties. Try rolling back driver. If that doesn't work, go to device manager, select sound card, uninstall device, reboot computer and let windows reinstall the device. At that point windows should load its latest driver.

I have no audio, downloaded the drivers nothing is on mute and i still have no sound

Sound problems can be very frustrating. I have to assune the sound was working and then quit. First we have to know if we have a hardware problem. Goto control panel. Goto system. Goto device manager. look for sound devices with exclamation mark next to them. If yes then the hardware cant start for some reason. This is normally a driver problem. Since you tried new drivers the next step would be to try uninstaling them and roll back to what it used before. Dell is very good at providing drivers but the are Opering System dependent. Goto Dell.com and find the drivers for your version of windows and start over.

Sound

Hi Again Mark,
Try rolling back your sound card drivers...I've had issues with Microsofts' updates, especially with AC97 stuff. If rolling back the drivers makes your sound come back, your next step is to go to Microsoft Update, and choose the 'Custom' search option. Once the list of available updates is shown, find tha one pertinent to your AC97, and click the little + sign next to the update. Then check the "Do not show this update in future" box, and you SHOULD be okay.

Disc drive not reading

Hi,
Update the O/S,
Type DXDIAG in the run box, to check your audio.

Device manager, disc drive properties, roll back or update the driver, let it search the internet for it.

Same for sound, device manager, sound, video and audio devices properteis, roll back or search for updated drivers, let it run.
Reduce hardware acceleration poss too for sound.
or poss drive failure.

should be good.
Hope this helps
Ric.

Not d perfect sound..

go into your device manager and click on the sound devices re install the driver. go into control panel click on sounds icon choose the windows default theme . that should give you sounds if not try re installing the sound card. go to your control panel device manager uninstall sound card restart your computer and it should automatically reinstall the sound card with the proper device driver if not go to windows update to update . you should try windows update first as when you format it rolls back all your drivers to before update status.
