The easyest way is to use a RCA cable (the red, white and yellow) on the DVD player you should have only one set (red, white and yellow) plug that cable into the input to your DVD Recorder IN plug another cable to the OUT on the Recorder to your TVs, RCA inputs(if you have front A/V jacks on your tv that would be a great place to start, rear is fine) Now turn on your TV to it's A/V channel.( maybe video 1 etc..) Turn on your DVD Player and put in a pre-recorded disc in the DVD Player, Turn on your Recorder find the A/V channel for that Maybe Video1 or 2.

Hope This Helps

Check the connections you have made properly or not, after that if there is no sound coming then maybe your subwoofer has defected and also check the subwoofer its wire are connected to the coil or not.

I am trying to make a dvd from a HDD video cam to a sony DVDirect recorder VRD-MC3 and a message saying non supported USB devbice keeps comiong up. Can you hellp?

The manual of the DVD doesn't say much for models, say's sony HDD, sony DVD, so maybe it's not compatible. Do you have a memory stick for the handycam ? If you stored the video on the internal storage, check the manual to see if you can move it to the memory stick, then put the stick into the DVD player. Or you will need a PC to transfer it with USB, then get a memory stick and put all the video on in and not internal storage, if the DVD is not compatible with the handycam.

Hello!!! i have dvd player ht-tz212 and when i play dvd-s it start normal but on half of every film it start freezing picture i tried to play original movies and copies,i even tried cleen dvd players lens...

Your Laser assembly (pick up) is weak, must be replaced. I don't know what you spent for your unit but it might be worth investing in a new one.

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

Hook up dvd

Found this on http://www.satelliteguys.us/directv-forum/118015-hooking-up-dvd-player.html,

The Directv box should have at least two sets of out puts. You did not say what receiver you have and if the dvd is a player only of a recorder so its hard to say how to connect it.

If you have a dvd player only then take the output from the dvd player and connect it to you tv's second input, HDMI or component or what ever is a match between the two unites.

If you have a DVD-Recorder that you want to record programs from the directv receiver then take the second output from the receiver and connect it to the input on the DVD-Recorder and connect the output as above.

Hope this helps.

Hook ups

use a video splitter for the audio and video, or go out of the DVD player in to the DVR, out of the DVR into the TV (WARNING!!!! Trying to hook a DVD player to any recording device may trigger the copyright protection, causing blue flashes, and distorted pictures)

Hooking it up correctly

If you hook up using the tuner in ILO you will lose digital signal to the HDTV (it will still go thru but only as analog) so... Use a splitter from the antenna coax to the "antenna in", then you can hook Ilo output to the tv inputs. You can watch/record analog through the ILO and still switch back digital non recording on HDTV thru its own separate tuner. Hook up the dvd player outputs to the ILO inputs(use the front ones is easiest) and then select SOURCE, pick corresponding inputs and enter. You can watch/record from other dvds that way but not from copyrighted ones, It will say protected content. I would only hook up dvd player temporarily to record from dvd player, then to watch dvd's just hook it up to HDTV. If you can select progressive scan on player to HD it might be even better picture but I don't have HDTV so I'm not sure how that works. Maybe more at this site: http://www.retrevo.com/support/CyberHome-DVR-1600MU-DVD-Players-manual/id/534ci862/t/2/ Someone says they are very similar recorders. The front covers are alike i know. Hope this helps.
