Door alarm keeps sounding even though doors aren't ajar

This refrigerator is brand new. Having a recurring problem with the door alarm continuously sounding, even if no one has been in the refrigerator for hours. It will randomly start beeping. This is just a guess, but I don't think the delivery people installed the doors correctly and I think its the freezer door that's causing the problem, but the installation manual doesn't explain how to level the doors. Does anyone know how to level the doors on this model? Does anyone know how to disablel the beeping alarm until I can get a repairman out to my home to solve this problem? I was told it could be a week or more. Thanks. Just got a refrigerator less than a year old from father-in-law. Beeps like a microwave - beep beep beep! I haven't timed it but it seems to go all the time, maybe every 30 seconds another set of beeps. It is cooling correctly. it's possible that it has always beeped and he couldn't hear it - he is hard of hearing.

I have and RS2630SH that has had the same problem since we first purchased it (4 yrs ago)--the freezer door alarm periodically goes off, even when the door has been closed for a long period of time. It will do this for a few days to a week, then quit for months, then start again.

Our fridge is about 9 years old and has just started this random beeping. The doors appear to be sealed tightly. I wonder if there is a problem with the door magnets as they appear to have worn a bit. There is no information regarding this problem in the User Manual.

The problem is the doorswitch of the freezer door. The door 'bump' which has to push in the swich doesn't push it in far enough. You can try and hold the switch an dpush it in with your finger and see if the sound continues. You can try to adjust the door, but easier is to glue or tape something to the door 'bump' so it pushes the switch further in. Hope this was the issue.

My "freezer:" bump" was frozen in place, causing the alarm to sound. I had to "defrost" it and the alarm stopped. !

For our Frigidaire, the beeper started while I was cleaning the inside and the door truly was ajar for a bit. Then I turned it off and then on when done, but the beeping wouldn't stop. Ultimately, unplugging the unit instead of turning it off solved the problem.

SOURCE: door alarm keeps sounding even though doors aren't ajar

ginad, L&G missed the tolerance a little on the door switch. They do make a kit to correct the problem, I believe it's a little gasket that fits under the door switch. I use a plastic stick on, on the door itself, to solve the problem. As long as it's under warranty have the replair co. fix it. In the meantime just use a piece of tape to cover the door switch.....Catriver...post back

E240B Fridge Freezer door open alarm goes even when door closed.

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

How can i stop the door ajar alarm when door closed and 0 f

Hey friend, thank you for your post!

In order to stop the door ajar alarm from beeping when the door is closed you would need to reset the alarm. If you have done that and it continues to beep it could be an issue within the switch or panel of your Frigidaire freezer. I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose your appliance. -Matt
