I have had my Maytag dryer (model # LDE8416ACE) for about 10 years. It makes a really annoying loud squeaking-squealing sound. It had continued to work with this noise for over 4 or 5 months. I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem was.
Typical parts that wear out and get noisy on that model are the two drum rollers (part # 12001541), the front drum glides #306508, the idler pulley Y303705 and the blower wheel 303836. None of these parts are very expensive, but to do all of them would definitely add up to the point that you might want to think about whether or not you want to keep the machine in operation especially after 10 years of good service.
