Unscrew the lamp door on the bottom of the projector, unscrew the lamp, remove the lamp, replace with new lamp, screw in, replace door, turn on, and reset lamp counter (menu-settings-lamp counter reset-yes)..

VGA to HDMI cables don't work. They're a con. VGA is an analogue signal. HDMI is digital. It's not possible to convert from one to the other with just a bit of wire.
