The display went very dark where I can't see anything. Is it time to throw it out? It was working great until this happened. It is 4 years old and had to be been fixed twice.
I have the same problem

Hi Robert,

You probably have two choices..one of them is obviously to if it can defy gravity on top of a tall building. The other is to press function and the up arrow to see if you can max out the brightness. You should also try to increase the light within windows control pannels or right mouse click the desktop go properties then to the display options to increase the gamma or lighting.

Another option is to see if its worth getting a new screen as cheaper alternative to replacing the whole computer. You may only want this if you are happy with speed of your laptop right now.

good luck
