This appears to be a common problem with this series of camera. Check your warranty and see if it is covered. The lens assemblies are plastic and any jarring can break the gears and cause failure. These errors are usually inside the lens assembly and not repairable (feasibly).

Should you buy another camera of this type, the extended warranties are well worth the money.

Screen says lens error and it will not close

This error is due to some fault in alignment of the lens. This is a hardware problem.
Hence, i will recommend you to take it to nearest service center and hand over it to some technical expert guys. Trying to resolve it on your own might worsen the issue.

this is an hardware error. I'm sorry but you can't fix it by yourself. You've to contact kodak for a repair.

It could be jammed or when you turn it on, your finger or somthing is in way of it opening all the way.
