Yes, that seems true. Telephone companies are more or less not responsible for GPS signals, unless they're using assisted GPS (aka A-GPS or something like that) which means that they're using the cell signals to help determine your position. Maybe your phone has problems getting GPS signals.
ur wrong in my n95 china mms and gprs are working properly i know its not the original one but its quite ok for me. you can even connect it to your dvd player with usb and play all the multimedia you can put on its external flash memory you can upgrade up to 8gb mem.
