Please help me with my problem..
My playback device on my toshiba satellite a215-s4807 laptop is crackling just like a rattling empty can.. playback device is realtek hi def audio.. also my mic can't be recognized when im having a video call thru sype.. I can hear rattling, hissing sound... please help me..
my aspire 3690 has the same problem i can't even play any music . the start up also is terrible. i thought that the realtek high definition sound was GOOD but after using it for some time i am wondering , the crackling is frustrating . i even removed twice and reinstalled it but the same results
I'm an XP user, so my solutions are based on that operating system.
Definitely a software issue, unless you dropped your laptop recently before this all happened, then I'd say hardware issue, and good luck fixing that.
If you have all the software for your computer (restore discs, etc..), then the first thing I'd do is REMOVE ALL of your audio devices and Skype under "Control Panel"/"Add Remove Programs", and/or "Device Manager".
Then reboot and reinstall everything you just deleted, and finally, go online and update everything as well.
Thats likely to solve your issues, if it's not a hardware problem.
