Sony kds-r60xbr1 - picture on for 5 seconds then...

For some reason, my TV blanks out after about 5 seconds when I switch inputs to the Oppo video (that is, the DVD in the Oppo in question plays for a while, then the screen shuts off. Audio continues to play - that is, disc is spinning).
Repeated HDMI presses doesn't solve the problem (thought originally that it was a 1080i versus 1080p issue).
Any ideas? Thanks SO much in advance!
