Carriage skipping

Whenever I type, the carriage jumps a space at random, leaving me a gap in the word, what is causing that and how can I fix it?

I have the same problem

I know someone who can solve this problem

the gear where the carriage runs along probably has a play.the shaft where the gear spins on is worn out.try to replace that mechanism.
