Good day,
The first step is to check the ice maker.
Pour water in the cavity of the ice maker until near full. Turn ice maker on and close freezer door and wait 2 hours. If it dumps ice then you can exclude the ice maker. If no action, and the water is still frozen in the cavity the ice maker must be replaced.
If the ice dumps then follow these steps.....
You want to check the water supply line to the machine from the house supply.
I prefer to shut the whole house down with the shut off valve at the meter. Disconnect the water line to the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. Point the open end of the water line into a bucket, and while watching have someone turn the water to the house on for a 10 to 15 second count. Water should come out of the line forcefully. If not replace the line and it's connecting valve.
If water supply is good, then replacing the water valve itself should solve your problem.
P.S. In rare occasions, the file tube from the back of the refrigerator to the inlet of the rear of the ice maker can build up with ice. You have to remove the ice maker to check this. If there is ice in this tube you have to melt it out.
However, caution using heat, as from a hair dryer ect. Heat from these devices can do a lot of damage to the hose and other plastic components in that area.
