there are almost all of toshiba dlp owners who have lamps blown out in mere months . toshiba has not come through with a lamp that lasts even remotely close to their specs.this lamp they say is a consumer item, not related to the tv.my 52hmx85 has no lamp as it costs me over 500 dollars a year to keep it going.you would think toshiba would do something about this as it is now 2009.go online and see for yourself as there are MANY of us who have been robbed.hope toshiba sees this.

Yes it is, here is the advice on bulbs:

Projection TV makers charge an arm and a leg for their replacement lamps. They make it easy to do but as a result the custom lamp assy is expensive. The trick is to just buy the bulb for your model TV from any number of us aftermarket sources at a fraction of the lamp price and install it in the old lamp yourself. Really easy.
Hope ya fix it!

Half of my 47" LCD Phillips screen fades from normal to dark. Any thoughts?

If it\'s a backlight issue one section will be dim and will fade darker or lighter to the other section. It is not a hard on/off line. So if it does fade to dark on one side I would suspect either a faulty backlight bulb (non-replaceable) or a failing backlight inverter (can be replaced.)

Why does the television power off by itself when color is fading in and out

Not real likely it is the lamp unless the picture is dark and has been getting darker.

I doubt it is the lamp.

Gray faded look on top to picture

It can be the plastic anti polarizing screen that covers the display.

Often it causes grey or red shadows on top of the picture.

CASIO EXILIM digital camera photo resolution

The Digimax A7 Doesn't work outdoors, because on top of the camera, try taking a picture, but hold your hand on the top of your camera (Cover it) it's light sensitive. On top their is a built in sensor, the Darker it is the darker the picture is, the lighter, the lighter. If you cover it, (Usually on top) It should work fine outdoor, just don' t cover it indoor. Hope this helped. -CA

Screen is a darker black on one side compared to other side

this is a light engine problem and it is a recall for toshiba. Call them and they need to give u a new light engine.....even though u will have other problems after they do that.

Blue area near center of screen

Uh Oh! blue screen of death. Your light engine has warped a little from overheating and is distorting the picture.

My suggestion to you is to get on the phone with hitachi and start complaining, then keep complaining until they agree to pay for it. You may have to get the problem diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.
