I have a brand new diswasher, Jenn Aire model JDB 1100AWS and I've noticed that it is not draining out the water, it actually looks like the water in there is being re-used? I know that I will have to check the discharge line for kinks and check the small 1/2 inch opening going into the sink drain to make sure that isn't plugged - however - any other suggestions to look at??
Thanks for using FixYa.
Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due
to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses,
knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) &
clogged drain pump & filter.
Also note that dishwashers do not
drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are
designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element
doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water
being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common
reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump
isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s
drain lines.
First check whether the drain is
not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for
blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced
recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the
drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not
been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry
vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything
else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you
have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then
it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.
Please do rate the solution and revert for further
assistance.
Thanks

The all-in-one dishwasher pellet pops out of my new Jenn-Air dishwasher. I know that the soap holder is latched but when I open the dishwasher in the morning, the dishwasher pellet may be in the silverware basket or in the bottom shelf. What is the problem?

Jenn-Air JDB1100AWS Dishwasher approx 3 yrs old. The dishwasher is stuck on normal wash with heated dry. It DOES complete the cycle and clean the dishes, but I cannot make any changes at all!! I cannot change the heat, or go to rinse cycle or do a different wash cycle -- only the normal cycle. When I touch the START/CANCEL button the lights turn on to the NOrmal Wash, Heated and Extra Rinse. If I hit the START/CAMCEL button again, all the lights go off, only the Start button is lit. (at this point it does not wash, since a cycle has not been chosen) If I hit the START/CANCEL button again-- all the light turn off. There are no flashing lights . We have tried pushing buttons (obviously) and switching off the power to the unit.. My husband is handy -- what can I get him to do?
