I want to update my graphics drivers on Sony Vaio PCG-61813m. This model update is not available on Sony Support website. Any idea what should I do. Since I installed Windows 7 Ultimate my graphics is rubbish.

These symptoms are not the inverter problem, What can you do if the laptop LCD screen turned completely white? From my experience I can tell that this problem may be related to the following: 1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen. 2. Defective LCD screen. 3. Defective motherboard (I assume the graphics card is integrated into the motherboard).
Check these by yourself or get assistance from sony support.

The graphics cards are actually integrated onto the motherboard and are unfortunately not inter-changeable like desktops. Your next option would be to purchase a new/working motherboard. Good luck!

go to the following website, scroll down and download mobility modder. http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php you will also need to download the lates catalyst software from ati don't worry that it isn't for your graphics card because mobility modder will change the files. finally follow all the instructions on the dh modder webpage where you downloaded it from and you can't go wrong. i used to have a sony vaio and i couldn't beleive how sony supports their customers after sale. they haven't and probably never will release a driver for these graphics cards. Shame on Sony!

you may have hardware problems an may need to change something inside. if you have the manual check the part of beep codes

Usually there is a side or a bottom part of the case where you can pop the hard drive out. My best advice is to refer to a manual or sony directly.

There seems to be a problem with the memory slots. I had the same problem as you. Layed a tooth pick across the memory, long way with the dimms. An now it boots fine evrytime.

yeah on the screen there is like impress circuits and the video inverter they are some microchips also but what i think you have get a new screen coz yours is broken but you can try to pull out the screen and you may be able to do the soldering by using a magnified glass let me know or rate me
