Question about Saeco Vienna De Luxe Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Idiots using espresso machine!

The vienna De Lux was purchased by a friend of mine... I would like to help him figure out how to fix his machine and it's an unfortunate set of circumstances! the machine was abused by another person... they put water in with the coffee beans in the auto- grinder hopper. I know... idiot! but appearently it's been sitting ever since! he's not touched it... and it's essentially gathering dust. I will play with it in the next couple of days... need more info on warranty (whether or not there is one) or I will attempt to do as much research and trouble shooting for him... I am an avid believer that saeco carries great produces... and would like him to get his money's worth... it was a 1000.00 machine for him in the beginning! :)
so please respond... thank you!

First thing you can try is cleaning out the grinder. You can find instructions at

However you might be too far gone and need attention of a service center.

I just purchased the Vienna and want to clean brew group. How many filters? I removed one with key. Is there another? What is the red ring?

Just the 1 filter but don't use the key to install the filter. The thing that the key fit's on is called a thumbscrew. Finger tight only.

I need to exchange small and large rubber rings and one glass ball in Saeco De Lux Coffee Machine. I am in Vancouver BC where I can get these parts

Saeco's address in Vancouver is:
Boundary Road
Vancouver, BC V5M 3Y7, Canada
(604) 299-7555
They should have parts - then again may only sell them to their authorised repairers - Check.

I've owned this saeco vienne de lux for about 3

When was the last time you descaled the machine? Scale will build up inside the boiler and insulate the water from the heating elements. The thermostat is on the outside by the heating elements so it gets hot but your water is warm. There are other things but check this first.

After coffee is made, clean water leaks out the bottom.

Remove the brew unit, find the white plastic valve inside, look under the valve you will see a small chamber, with a discharge going into the drain tray, clean out chamber and discharge.

Liquid leak while Vienna runs...but where from?

You may have a cracked coil inside the boiler and cracked nut of the coil going up to the wiring lug. Check it out, it will be a hair thin crack, almost invisible.
