your mic is compatible with vista.... what you have change is your sound card...

this is the dilemma of Vista. some hardwares and softwares are not comptible with it. so be sure that the hardware you're going to connect to your pc is vista certified otherwise dont install it. try to go to sound property and be sure that the microphone is enable and not muted...goodluck!
