I am installing a chandelier that has clear wire covering. One side has some writing on it ''AWM'' and the other wire has nothing on it. Which wire, black or white connects to the wire with the AWM on it?

I'm assuming this chandelier has the standard round screw base connectors for the light bulbs. Check the connection with an ohmmeter, which wire is connected to the center connection and which one is connected to the outside threaded screw. Connect the one which is connected to center connection to the black wire, and connect the other one to the white one.
