Question about Samsung SCD263 Camcorder

Open Question

Scd263 power problem

My sc-d263 will not power up on battery or acadapter, the charge light doesn't come on either. I tested the adapter and it works. I can't find a solution or even an idea of what the cause could be anywhere.

SOURCE: how do i clean the video head without a cleaning

I'd strongly suggest getting a cleaning tape recommended by the manufacturer or taking it to be professionally cleaned. It's very easy to cause expensive damage to the tiny parts.

The power on the Panasonic Palmcorder IQ PV-A206 turns itself off. I've tried plugging directly and with a fully charged battery, no luck.

please make this test and fix it. God bless you

If the video camera doesn't work, make sure the battery is charged (see The Battery Recharger Fix-It Guide) or replace a battery that won't hold a charge. Make sure the AC adapter is connected properly. Clean any dirty contacts on the battery, charger, and AC adapter with a cotton swab dipped in denatured alcohol. Remove corrosion with a clean pencil eraser, then wipe the area with an artist's brush to remove any debris. Find and test the fuse, if any.
If the power goes off soon after starting, recharge a low battery. Also, turn the video camera power off, then turn it back on and eject the tape. If the problem persists, check the fuse
If the battery won't charge, clean the contacts and fully discharge the battery, then recharge it. If the problem persists, replace the battery

If the video camera works intermittently, remove and reseat the to establish good contact. If necessary replace the fuse

Canon Vixia HF M41 doesn't charge battery - red light flashing rapidly

If you don't use the battery for a long period of time even a new battery may become dead. You can try a new battery. If it still doesn't work then the problem is with the charging IC. u can also try a desktop charger instead of direct charger.

Camcorder wont work unless plugged into the charger

Try pulling the battery out and putting it back in then charging it. If that doesn't help anything sounds like you have a battery that needs to be replaced.

Pink stripes during playback on samsung mini dv sc-d263

This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

D363 new battery new charger still does not work the small coin battery is old cr 2025 what you advise battery chargerlight will not come on.

I have this camera, and have had trouble with connecting the charger to the mains (in the UK, using an adapter to plug the two round pin charger into a UK square pin socket). I found I had to withdraw the plug from the mains adapter socket slightly to get it to connect. Once it is powered, the charger light on the camera should flash while charging, and go on steady when fully charged. It takes a few moments to start flashing. It does not flash when the battery is not present, or when the camera is turned on, in play or record modes.

If it isn't a problem with the connection, perhaps the battery has reached the end of its life. Discharging the battery completely can shorten its life. Or perhaps the battery itself isn't connecting because it isn't seated in its mount correctly.

CR2025 coin cells are not hard to obtain- I have seen them in a local thrift mart and on eBay. I don't think it needs this battery in order to charge the main one, but it is worth a try. This battery is just to back up the memory of the settings and keep the clock running.

What is the voltage, current, and polarity of the power supply for the SC-D23?

You should use the original Samsung supply since it is a switching power supply capable of supplying the needed current to operate the onboard charging circuit. Many customers have tried to go with generic supplies and it opens the inline chemical fuse due to the unit drawing heavy current during battery charging. Hope this helps.
