i took apart the keypad to remove a roach from the display window now none of the keys will work

I have the same problem.

I had the same problem with a bug in my display. I took the panel apart and put it all back togther as displayed. When I power it up I get the flashing 8's, but nothing works on the keypad. Any ideas?

You must clean the bottom rear edge of the LCD glass, both sides of the "zebra" strip, and the contact area of the circuit board with high grade (50% or better) isopropyl alcohol and a clean cloth.
