Hi, i have an Acer Aspire 5730ZG notebook not older than 1 year. It has started to shut down immediately (without any warning) since a week when i'm running a program or a game that needs much cpu usage. I think it's cause of overheating but why since a week? When i check the notebook surface it's hot (even touchpad). The room where i use my notebook has 21-22 °C temperature. The strange thing is before shutting down the battery indicator led is orange and starts blinking. Actually this is a charge warning. I mean when the indicator is orange and blinking it means battery is low and needs to be charged. Notebook is under warranty but i don't wanna send it to the service cause i sent it before for a display preoblem and got back after 4-5 weeks. Any ideas/solutions?

- Thank you for replying, i forgot to add something: After shutting down immediately, when i try to turn on my notebook, i get an error after seeing windows loading animation: c000021a Fatal System Error written on a blank blue screen. My OS is Vista Home Basic.
You may have a couple of issues here....first is the power block and battery. Run the laptop with just the battery and just put a browser window up and see how long it runs and how stable it is. The take the battery out and run it just on the charger brick, see if it shuts down on you. If the unit shuts down both times regardless of the power supply, then I would suspect the processor is giving the shut down signal because it is getting too hot. The overheating condition can be caused by a number a factors, the most common is dust dirt and debris in the cooling grills and heatsink. The first thing I would do is get several cans of office supply compressed air and using short bursts, blow out all grills, compartments, the optical frive...anywhere you can get the nozzle in, use short bursts so you don't accidentally spray any condensation vapor that may be released from the can during extended spraying. The next thing to do is remove the heatsink from the laptop and replace the thermal paste or if it has cooling pads, clean around that area and make sure all dirt is cleaned and removed. I will include a link below to your service manual. It is 25 MB in size and is in PDF format. It is free to use, copy and print if you want. Look on Page 75 for heatsink removal, it is under the large accesss panel on the bottom of the laptop, remove the screws that hold the panel and pry it up with a screwdriver. Good luck.....
If the machine is under warranty then your best option is to return it, as anything you do to try and fix the laptop will probably invalidate the warranty and you will end having to pay to get it fixed!
this heating problem culd be bcoz of an internal wiring, so i wuld really suggest that send it to the service people as it is in warranty cuz if u dnt do this it can lead to several burns and may void warranty, so y take chance.
one suggestion i wuld wanna give u is tat there is a place on the back of the laptop which is the heat outlet, make sure that is not blocked while u r using it, clean it with a brush if needed. i am talking bout the one from wher hot air cumes out.

Just recently I format my laptop (acer aspire 5570).When I tried to install the sound driver (Realtek HD),I got a message saying that the setup detected the version installed on my system is lower than what is necessary to apply this setting and at minimum I must have Windows XP Service Pack 1.Is there other solutions without having formatting it all over again?Furthermore it is hard to find a copy of SP 1 these days.

My Ipod touch is not recongized...works with other computers and laptops....any suggestions? Have done all that Apple says to do to no avail. They told me it is the computer and not Vista...however...all other operating systems recognize the Ipod.
