Need to know where to connect what cables when installing hard drives, DVD Roms, PC light, etc.

You reply helped a lot. I don't have a manual, as this computer was bought second hand without any type of reading material. Oh well. Nevertheless, I do recognize the case cable and the pwr location on the motherboard, so thanks bunch for you help. Appreciate it. Ally

Very generic questions so lets see if i can answer as best as i can. hard drives and dvd are very similar principles (see below)
hard drives comes in SATA or PATA. If its a SATA then there should be small red connectors that you should plug the HD in on the motherboard while PATA or IDE drivers should have white connectors. They are wider in width of the cable containing about 24 pins. The motherboard would also call out SATA1,SATA2 etc so you know its the SATA plug. Likewise for IDE drives.
Regarding power switches, on most motherboards there should be a set of pins at one corner of the board with tiny little letters pwr next to it. You will need to connect power switch cable from the case to the motherboard.
I highly recommend you read the manual that comes with the motherboard to see where it is located.
