Most likely is the fuser but you need to know at what point the line is being placed on the paper which will require you to do some testing. You need to do a test page and then shut the power off to the printer when the paper is appoximately half way thru. Then open the lid and remove the cartridge. Look at where the toner is applied to the paper under the cartridge up until before entering the fuser (DO NOT TOUCH THE FUSER VERY HOT WILL CAUSE SERIOUS BURN), do you see the line? Or does the line start after exiting the fuser? If the later then you need a fuser.

My HP laserjet 3015 puts thick dark line down the copy

Put paper in the manual feed tray(tray 1). Print something. When the paper gets about 1/2 way into the printer, open the top cover. Pull out the toner. Look down at the paper in the printer. Do you see a thick dark line? Replace the toner. No thick dark line, check the fuser for damage.

How do I copy with a HP Laser Jet 5P

You cannot COPY with just a printer. You'll need a SCANNER too. Basically, you use the scanner to scan the page, then you print it using your printer.

HP Laserjet 5P shading edges of page

This is probably due to a defective cartridge, Charge Roller or Transfer roller.

Check the cartridge for a band of toner still on the drum.

Check the Charge roller for oil or smudges, this roller should be a lighter color and should be relatively free of toner or marks.

Same as the Transfer Roll, which will be dark, though excess toner should be evident.

A relatively smooth straight line is generally the cartridge.

A rather wavey or broken line is most likely the rollers.

You can however attempt to print a large amount of pages (25-50) in an attempt to clean the parts, however if either part is defective they will need to be replaced and no manner of printing will clean them.

HP Laserjet 3330 printed dark page especially around the middle

Does this happen both when copying and printing?
For printing solution, try another toner cartridge.
If lines continue to appear when copying (primarily through the automatic feeder) then lift the auto feeder, and clean the glass -mainly the narrow piece on the left side.

please rate solution :)
