- no problem getting windows up my internet provider went thru all the steps then said it was probly the network card that is bad please advise thanks

- yes did that and regular power and modem computer restart, full restore to factory specs, and more.

how many firewalls are you using? do you use pop-up controls?

are you using a wireless or wired internet connection ? , windows xp , vista .do you have the latest drivers for the network adaptor ? please be more specific

Did u disconnect the power from your modem for 15 seconds & reconnect?

Check if LAN driver is installed. You can open Device Manager by double-clicking on the System icon in Control Panel, and choosing the Device Manager tab. It is also accessible by right-clicking on My Computer, selecting Properties, and selecting the Device Manager tab. If your LAN driver is installed, check your firewall settings if your local network is allowed.
