possible fuse. if the red is curved or bent, if the red is straight try covering tv with blanket so the sensors get a good reading. again if the red is bent, and fuses are good..... bad convergence ic's.... local service center

Try adjusting the convergence. If it won't move see below- (or hitting Magic Focus for some Hitachi’s)

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

there is a section in the tv working just to keep the screen fitting top to down (vertical section) some capacitors are dry now in that area. this one has not to be a expensive job in the workshop. Try estimates

Your model doesnt have convergence ICs. You can get the replacement parts and free instructions on how to do the repair at the following link, just click on the contact us link on the lower left hand side of the website and tell them the model number and chassis they respond quickly.

generally Samsung makes great units. but its definitely not worth fixing. recycle it and indvest in a new unit.

Hello! This is eagle.. What happened.. You didn't type a single word! You tried twice and I picked up the chat both the times..Looks like some kind of connection problem.. I have been waiting forever for you to type! Anyways can you please post an image of the set powered on? Also did you try adjusting the convergence settings of the set?

You may have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos.

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.



You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.


You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick email and they will put one together for you. Their kits includes photo instruction guides, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

This is a convergence problem.. possible deflection problem... you might need a tech to look at it...
