Question about Sony Ericsson W800i Cellular Phone
Purchased phone off ebay for my wife but "yes opt*& won't give me the network unlock code since the phone is not mine:-( WTF!
Firmware flash is an option but I'd much prefer to keep it simple. Unfortunately the phone is not much use on optus. Any help appreciated.
You can go to www.unlockitnow.com,www.mobile2mobile.net or take it to a mobile service center that can unlock mobile and pay a small fee to have it done.

NETWORK UNLOCK CODE:
To unlock your mobile you need to
get network unlock code(NUC) from current service provider via phone or go to
service provider office.
While you get the Network
unlock code ,the service provider customer care officer will ask for your
personal details to check whether the mobile belongs to you only.If they are
satisfied with your answers they will provide with the network unlock code.
