My cobra MT600 wont charge. It is brand new with rechargeable batteries but no matter how long I leave on charge - nothing. I cant tell either if you turn them off to charge or leave on - I have tried both and there is no indication that they are charging. The battery indicator is on low battery permanently! I even tried new batteries (non-rechargeable) but that had no effect. They are useable for about 1 hour and then I plug them in but they never fully recharge. Help! Thank you.

If radios are brand new then I would take them back to the store for warranty exchange. The other opton is to vist a local radio service center and ask the tech to jump the battery. if the battery falls below a certain voltage it might need a quick jump sart from a power supply with a higher voltage normally 12 volts works well...

There is a contact in the upper left hand corner of the batt compartment. This has to touch the metal of the last batt.If your batts have paper around them scrape it off where it contacts that contact point.
SOURCE: I have the cobra micro
they charge better if they are turned off. since they do not have a paid dedicated channel, signals can
still be received by any walkie talkie using the same channel, and can deplete the charging process
to the radio. good luck!
