Question about Philips 42FD9954 42 in. Plasma HDTV
Blue line down left side.
The lines are most likely the panel which isnt cheap
the blue speckles are just a voltage adj. on the y sistain if you feel confident enough you could try this yourself(though expensive equipment is usually required i do without). what you would have to do is take off the back panel if you have a stand put it back on that. easier to work on. then plug it. BE CAREFUL not to touch anything inside!!! from the back you will see a board on the left side on that board will be a small board attached vertically it will have a gray screw attached(very small). with the tv on you adj. the screw until the blue goes away(a little does alot).

I had the same prob...called philips and they sent out a repair man. thought he would have to replace the whole board.. end up and had to adjust a few readings. he removed the back so the whole panel was exposed. think there is four panels each is has a defalt reading which is labled in the back once panels are exposed and he had to adjust each one. each one is like a small dial that was adjusted with small screw driver. ...ever since havent had a prob...tell this to the repair man and hopefully they will be able to adjust. keep watching him so you learn to do yourself if this happens again.

Just had the tech leave. Fix was to adjust some voltages that have drifted up about 8 volts. - you can call them at 610-582-5351.

I found that putting a fan behind my tv to cool it down makes the blue lines go away. Hopefully this works for somebody else.
