do not use Windex. Or any other ammonia-based product. Trust me, ammonia and TV's is not a good combination.Chances are, your instruction manual agrees with me too. That Office Depot Screen Cleaner, along with many others out there, is safe to use - gentle on the screen - and will do a great job at cleaning.Usually that stuff will be < $25 for a decently sized bottle that should last about 3 years for a 50" screen that gets cleaned weekly. Most come with a micro-fibre cloth too. Overall not a bad investment. Will work great on the smoke residue on your tv - along with any computer screens and anything else in the house. Definately worth picking up.

Samsung 42in. rear projection tv HC-R4241W very dusty and dirty inside what could i use to clean, also the mirror is very dirty looks like smoke maybe? what could i use to clean it up.

Cleaning any projection tv is not complicated but requires a basic understanding of the mechanism and how it works to avoid problems. Number one on the list is to never, ever use paper towels or paper products to wipe any mirrors, lenses or the screen. You should only use lint free cloth towels, something like cloth diapers or good new shop rags. The cleaner should be something without ammonia, mild and non-abrasive. Something like non-ammonia windex. I have the entire procedure written down at which should walk you through the process.

How do we remove erasable white board marker from the apollo screen?

With Windex, just use a wet rag afterward to make sure the ammonia is not left behind. If the screen is stained that is a different issue as you will have to use a cleaner that actually removes some of the screen, but doesn't eat through it entirely.

How do i clean outside hitachi prejection tv screen.

Using a lint free cloth, such as a diaper, and windex (no ammonia), spray the cloth to dampen it and using a swirling motion wipe the screen. Finish with a dry lint free cloth. Never use paper towels, and never spray the screen as the liquid can migrate between the different sections of the screen. Let me know if you need more help.

What do you clean the led tv screen with?

Hi, just a soft cloth/swiffer is great for the dust. NEVER spray anything on the screen. If you have kids and it is not dust. Use mild soap/or windex. Spray onto a lint free cloth. Paper towls can scrach the screen over time.Buy are ok if you do not rub hard. just put the windex or soap water on the rag/or towl. Also DO NOT set anything on top of the TV you own. It will cause the screen to bow. I have the same one. Mirror is on the top of tv insted of angled on the back. Cool idea. But not to well thought through. Needs more support to hold something.Looks great, and takes up only 10" but the sound not happy with. Pict is great. Hope this helps. Todd

What is best for cleaning the screen of a rear projection tv?

A mild detergent soap and hot/warm water.

Use it in moderation.

Mix up some dish washing soap and warm/hot water in a bowl. Use a lint free cloth and dunk it into the water and then wring it out. Wipe the screen down and repeat until clean.

Then use plain water to wipe the screen (on a wringed out cloth) to remove any residue until you have purged and dried the screen.

Tips: Make sure you use a lint free and soft cloth. Make sure you wring out the cloth so that you only have minimal water or soap on it.

DO NOT use alcohol or ammonia based cleaner on the screen.

Expect to spend around 10-15 minutes to properly clean the screen.

How to clean screen of sanyo LCD TV

Never use a cleaning agent such as Windex on your LCD. Those cleaners often contain ammonia, which can, over time, damage your display's panel. A slightly damp, lint-free cloth, like the ones included with eyeglasses, or a microfiber cloth should do the trick. Never use paper towels! If you see streaks, follow the damp cloth immediately with a dry one. You can moisten the cloth with plain water or a commercial LCD panel cleaner, available at office supply stores. These commercial cleaners are often just 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mixtures, so clearly, you can mix that yourself and save a couple of bucks. Just remember never to spray any liquid directly at your screen. Moisten the cloth instead.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.

Liquid leaked into tv

Hi Tracy,
I have the sweetest grandchildren and tey are always willing to help also, so we have to love the children for all their wonderful help. ( NOT !!! ) But lets not send your son to the adoption web sight just yet. I'll start by letting you know ( in a sigh of releif for you ) that your tv is not damaged forever, although, when the windex drys, you will probably see a dirt stain on the screen, since the windex probably did it's job and cleaned the dirt off, unfortunatly the residue is between the screens. You have 2 layer of plastic screens for your TV. One is a lexan shield and the other is a riffled substance plastic. To seperate the two of them, you need to take the front of the TV off, normally by removing screws from the inside of the TV ( this can be a tricky job and I really suggest you have a pro do it if you haven't worked on TV's in the past ). If you do it, be extra careful not to break the screen or sheild after removing as they can get a bit pricey. When you take them out, they will seperate ( one lays on top of the other, no real trick to them ) and then just grab your windex ( the remains of the bottle that your son left you ) and clean them like you would glass. Of course after you clean the screens, replace them in the oppisite proceedure of taking them apart and wella, all is ok again and junior remians a loving and helpful son. smiling. I hope this helped. Nice day.
