Question about JVC Cybercam GR-DV3000 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

3.5 in monitor is not working

I went to use my camcorder today and when I open the monitor it did not come on. I closed it and tried again. The camcorder functioned normally except for this one feature. I just used the camcorder a couple of days before with no problem. It has been safely in it's bag since then, please advise.

That hasn't helped. I used it for several minutes using the eyepiece during the holidays and it functioned perfectly except that the monitor was blank and remains so.

    Dear Sirs/Madam:

The monitor on my jvc gr-dv 3000 is not working. The camcorder works fine otherwise but this is the feature I bought the camcorder for in the first place. It wasn't dropped, damaged or exposed to moisture so I am at a loss.
Also, can you tell me which cable I need to connect to a TV with RCA jacks for playback.

    Thanks, SL

Well I think it could be one of 3 problems you are having

1.) the cable or data strip is disloged or slack
2.) the monitor is gone
3.) the display circuit is damaged

What you can do is open it up and try cleaning the data strip(the one connecting the monitor to the camera) to see if it is broken or disloged,. if it is disloged just clean it and put i back in if it is broken you;d need to change it..

If that didnt help you'd have to purchace replacement parts, if you wish to repair it your self you can downalod your service manual and follow the instruictions there to fix it.. however i recommend getting a professional to have a look at it since they will be in a better position to tell you exactly whats wrong.. Remember they will have in in frount of them and be able to trouble shoot it..
Remember sometimes its better to purchase a new camera as replacement parts + shipping + repairs can be close to or even more that a new camera.

If you want to try to repair it your self you will require your service manual *detailed informatyion on how to repair it)

to get it just google (camera brand model service manual)

regards ..

To connect the camera to the tv, when ou brought the camera you should have gotten a cable with 2 rca connectors and a jack to your camera, I am not sure what type of camera you have since you didnt not specify, what you can do is look at your user manual to determin what kind of connector your camera requires or what type of cable is needed, *there are many different connectore for different cameras) if you give me your model and brand i might be able to source one for you. of you can try googling your camera brand model tv connector

Monitor blacks out after few seconds

Since you opened up the PC the first thing to do would be to make sure the graphics card (if it is a standalone card) is seated properly. Remove it, blow out any dust, and re-install it. If that does not fix the problem, or if the graphics are built into the PC, try getting a cheap video card (or borrow one from a friend) and that should fix the problem, since you have ruled out the monitor as the problem.

Also, it could be a problem with the power supply. I'd chase down the graphics card side first though. If that doesn't work, try the same procedure with the power supply.

Note: I have run into instances where an AGP slot got "zapped" by someone opening the case and not taking proper static precautions, so be careful, always unplug the PC and ground yourself to the case before touching anything. If you try a video card you know is functioning and it still doesn't work, pick up a PCI graphics card and see if that works.

Monitor went black

Hi there,

This is a very common problem,

Most monitors go due to the connection, for example when you open and close the lid this loosens the connection so this is your problem.

You may be able to find and download the service manual on google, and take it step by step from there or take it in for a service.

hope this helps

Sony Handycam DCR-HC30 2004 model

Your unit is a 2004 model. If it has never been used since then the battery is probably no good and will need replaced. Batteries discharge 20% on a monthly basis just sitting on the shelf so yours went dead a long time ago. Then if they are left in that state (dead) they sulfate which means that sulfur oxides transfer to the plates and form an insulating surface. At that point all the charging in the world is not going to bring it back. All you can do is get another one. They are available at most stores which sell electronics. Get a new battery and charge it per the instructions and try using it again. This should solve your problem. Good luck.
