Use a Recovery CD that came with your laptop. The other way is to do a new Windows install. Use a Windows installation CD; it must match the Windows version on the Windows Product Code label on the bottom of your laptop. You will also need to download the device drivers for your model laptop from the IBM/Lenovo WEB support site, make sure the download the correct XP or Vista version of the drivers which matches the Windows version you are installing.

I just installed Ubuntu 9 in an IBM Thinkpad T20 as the single OS and none of my devices (Netgear WPN511 pcmcia wireless adapter in particular) will install. Is there an alternative set of drivers for Ubuntu or Linux? Or am I missing something completely?
