Re: Speaker Problem

Plug in what volt your speaker and then scratch by your finger the input line if strong sound scratching means the aplifier good, But: If you scratch with finger no or very low the aplifier is defective. If deffective you may buy a new one test it before you buy.

Fix my monitor internal speaker

The place to begin would be to check the speaker itself--disconnect the wires (if more than one do both) and check it for resistance--8 ohm should read 8 ohm.

If speaker reads good and paper in the cone is not bad you have another problem.

I used to use desktop speakers but now i want to use the speakers built in to my monitor and they dont work

Look for a green 3.5mm port (the size of a headphone jack) on the back of your tower and connect that with an audio cable to the computer's speaker output (probably a green plug also on most PC's)
If the monitor speakers have their own power supply make sure they are also plugged in and powered on.

Just bought X-140 speakers. Plugged them in and connected them to the audio output jack on the back of my HP desktop model SR5710Y. Booted up the computer and logged on to Pandora. Got sound from the...

Most HPs have a utility in the Conrol panel for speaker jack output assignment, verify you have them plugged into the green jack not blue/pink, verify that the digital output only is not selected in the speaker control panel. you say built in speakers , are these in the monitor, some HPS have two outputs that can be controlled individually, again this is in the control panel audio properties utility, sometimes there is a audio icon by the clock (bottom right) that will also adjust these settings, but the "control panel" way is more reliable.

Speakers don't work.

Look at the rear of the computer.
There will be different coloured jack plug sockets.
The speaker out is green and the mic. in is pink.
There may be other colours, these are for multi speaker (3.1 5.1 +) setups.
Your manual should give you a diagram

The speakers are intergrated in to the monitor and don't seem t.

First, find out if the speakers or audio is working properly. At your PC menu, left click Setting, Control
Panel, and Add hardware. Click the add hardware wizard and just follow the instruction until you will find all the installed hardware of your PC. Click at the Audio, and the sound driver of your PC to find if these are working properly. Assuming that this are working
properly, test the audio output of your PC by putting
in another set of speaker (borrowed or otherwise).
If you hear the sound, then it is a connection problem. The wire to the speaker could be broken, or
the speaker itself. Under this condition, it is your
option to open up your monitor and test the speakers.
Or to just buy a new set of speakers. Unless you
are familiar with handling an open monitor, you may
go ahead with opening the monitor Otherwise, it is
wiser to buy the speakers which is much cheaper
than a monitor that could accidentally get damage.

Are these speakers adaptable with my Compaq Presario PC?

Hello my friend, with regards to your problem first we must check if your currentl audio device is compatible with your speakers. I mean you have a 5.1 speaker then let us check if your audio plugs is also a 5.1 channel in order to accomodate your speaker. else you can istall your speaker in to your currentl audio device but not all speakers were work cause it needs to have the same specs from your speaker to your audion device installed in your can only use the green, and blue then if you have mic the you could used the pink plugs but for your black plugs in your speaker it cannot be used.
