Plug in what volt your speaker and then scratch by your finger the input line if strong sound scratching means the aplifier good, But: If you scratch with finger no or very low the aplifier is defective. If deffective you may buy a new one test it before you buy.

The monitor blinks & the color is not correct. the reds are not right.for instance I go to my stocks & see the green but the red is not showing anything. model vx1935wm

Tabreez, If possible, move vx1935wm to different pc to determine beyond a doubt that the pc is not the cause of the problem. Or swap a known good monitor to your pc and prove it that way. Also check with Viewsonic for warranty info and or an exchange (cash+your's) and they ship same model Refurbished back to you. This could also be a power supply problem internal to the monitor and will need to be evaluated by a technician. When monitor is working perfect one day, and then starts doing STRANGE things the next day, it could have a partial failure of the switch-mode-power-supply. I'm louie12fix on fixya

Speakers

HI

Even when speakers are built in you sometimes have to plug the speaker (out) port on your PC to the speaker (IN) port on the monitor. This requires a cable that doesn't usually come with the monitor. Hope this helps.

No sound through external speakers

Although some monitors have built in speakers, most people have stand alone speakers. If the old monitor had built in speakers and now it is unplugged you won't hear sound. Even if the speaker cable is still plugged into the sound output on the back of your computer, the monitor must be plugged into an electrical outlet to have power.

I'd recommend buying a new set of external speakers if this is the situation.

If you never had speakers built into the monitor then normally changing monitors would make no difference whatever. The only explanation that makes sense under those conditions is that in the process of replacing the monitor, you dislodged the speaker jack from the sound output on the back of the computer.

Make sure your external speakers have electrical power plugged in, the power is on (green light on at least one speaker lights up) and the volume on the speakers is at least half way up.

Unplug the speaker from whatever hole it is plugged into and plug it firmly back in and test sound.

If still no sound other than some static on the speakers, try every single hole on the back of the computer that the jack will fit properly and test for sound.

Let me know if you have further questions.

LCD MONITOR

for now you can plug a monitor in the back and use it that way. I'll look up the model later to see what's interchangable.
