    • Hi -

I've got a similar problem with the MX310 after refilling except that I can only print in black. (Although both cartridges have been filled.)

I've tried the suggestion (substituting the stop/reset button for the resume button since there is no resume button), but to no affect.

Any further ideas would be appreciated.

      Thanks, in advance.

    • These instructions get you into the "Service Mode" but what do you do then?

Best Solution

You could just turn the ink refill monitor off.

Open the Windows Start menu, open the "Canon Utilities" folder, open the "My Printer" folder, open "My Printer", click on "Printer Status", go to the "Options" menu, unselect "Enable Status Monitor".

You should be able to tell when your ink is low, because the color will fade.

I've heard that with canon there is a way around the ink-level chip monitoring on the cartridge by doing the following:

  1. Power off printer
  2. Hold RESUME button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once.
  3. Hold POWER and release RESUME
  4. Press RESUME twice
  5. Release POWER button
  6. When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be orange.
  7. Press POWER to set data
