flakes of gray matter afixed to inside of lens at eye piece end. I sent this to a scope repair facility in OK. on Aug 13 th and recieved it back on Oct 25th with a note that it was impossible to get into. But their guarantee was money back if not repaired and returned in 30 days.
After several phone calls and emails over a 3 week period I finally got an email stating sorry for delay. Then the scope came back with note sayin the above and that my money would be returned shortly. I haven't seen it yet. Is there someone out there that is qualified to open it up and clean out whatever is flaking and stopping whatever is coming off from doing it again? Thanks Ed
unless its a realy pricy scope its not worth repairing them, the flaking is the inner coating coming away from the inner tube to open and clean all this out would mean a complet strip down and a repaint of the inner tube then all the glass would need cleaning putting back in and a re-gas so,its pricy to have all this done,,best bet is buy a new scope
