I have an Hitachi UltraVision 50ux23k purchased 2001. I am starting to have problems with the picture. The picture starts to seperate into two. A pink strip appears at the bottom of the screen and a green strip appears at the top of the screen. Turning the set on and off one or more times will correct the problem for awhile. What would be your best guess of the problem and about how much to fix?
The best guess is likely convergence control IC's (2 of them STK392-110) and associated circuit problem.
It's acommon fault which causes the symptom you describe - get an estimate - usually between $200-300.
