Whats wrong with this thing?

I have a toshiba satellite A55-S1063 laptop when i try to start it it says....unmountable_boot_volume . under tech support it says

Make sure there is nothing plugged into the PC other than the power cord
make sure there are no CD's in the drive or Floppy disks if you have a floppy drive.

same problem? if so....

you probably have a bad hard drive or corrupt OS

Is there a larger hard drive for the Toshiba Satellite A55-S1063. the hard drive that came with it is 40gb?

Go to their website and check under this model for upgrades. If not go on the Net and look up the upgrades from there. Good Luck

Put two gegs of ram in my toshiba satellite a55-s1063

1. The ram you put into your computer man not be compatible with the computer itself. You can find out what kind of memory your computer takes by doing a google search or asking a technician at your local computer store.

2. You may have put too much ram in. sells as its largest ram chip for your computer a 512meg stick. This likely means that the most memory your laptop can take is 2x512meg, or 1 gig.

3. The memory may not be correctly seated. Installing memory isn't rocket science, but you have to make sure you have the chips seated properly before trying to boot your machine.

Click on the Downloads tab and then choose windows xp as your operating system and you can download any of the drivers that you need from that point.

If it's a BIOS password you forgot, you'll have to take it to a Toshiba Repair Center. Sorry, you're stuck.
