Philips Gogear Connect 3 8Gb runs out of battery in less than two hours.

I had the same issue. Device would charge in 30 minutes, but would then die in about 40 minutes of playing music.
Solution in my case was to reset. The first time I tried the reset I did it with the device off and that didn't seem to work, the second time I did it with the device on and it worked great. The device showed 8% battery life remaining. I reset and turned the device back on and it showed 93% battery life remaining!(I did not charge it) Since that time I have been playing music through Bluetooth to some remote speakers and still have 91% battery left.
To reset get a pin or knife and push in the small reset button on the non button side of the device.
Good Luck!
PS - If you don't own a Phillips GoGear Connect 3 DO NOT buy one. This problem aside it is the worst mp3 player I have ever owned. And if you subscribe to Rhapsody THIS IS NOT RHAPSODY ENABLED.

I listen to the music for 1 hour. I turn the lock switch off. The next day the Go gear MP3 has completely discharged. I re charge it on the pc. The screen reads 'Fully charged'. The same thing...

There are two things possible.
1) You have defective re chargeable batteries in your GoGear.
2) There is some short circuit because of which the re chargeable cells are discharging.
Either way you should get the system changed. If you want to confirm if its the battery defect or GoGear. Charge the system fully and play music continuously. If the Go Gear plays for about 4 hours with out break---- its not the battery but the charging system.

You can keep the Sansa plugged in without fear of overcharging. The Sansa will play while it is connected to a USB port that is supplying only power, such as a USB charger operating off a car cigarette lighter. It will not play while connected to a computer.

Plug the USB cable they provided to a PC and hook the other end to the mp3 player. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge.

My 3G ipod works fine when charging in my vehicle (lighter power supply). It does not hold a charge at all though. It also works when charging w/ the wall charger in my home. I can not get it to charge...

Perhaps you are attempting to charge it with it turned on. Most mp3 players have to be turned off to charge the battery. This is because the overvoltage of the charger would damage the delicate cmos chips otherwise. SO when charging through your USB port plug it in and then turn it off using the software switch which is usually "hold down play button" for 4 secs. Don'rt use the mechanical switch (if it has one)

My ipod shuffle wont play music

It won't play music while connected to computer, that's for sure. It only plays when it's disconnected from the wall charger and computer.

The songs could be in the wrong format
AAC is iTunes native format
Mp3 generally works
WMA is iffy - only unprotected (non-DRM) files will work
Streaming songs won't work
