My mouse pointer was drifting for no reason, until I looked closely at the laser and saw a hair across the optical port. Removed with tweezers. Drifting stopped.

My Logitech cordless mouse MX 700 is being eratic.

There could be a sensitivity problem with the mouse before installing new drivers and software you can try going to the mouse settings to see if there's an adjutment problem,
  • click on the mouse icon in the control panel
  • a mouse properties box will pop up
  • at the top of the box click hardware
  • look to see if your mouse is labeled under devices.
  • highlight your mouse it should say, this device is working properly.
  • you might want to go through all the mouse settings first to make sure there set right, pointer's activities, pointer option's, ect, if your still having problem's here's a link with the software and driver download for your mouse,,en?prodcrid=398
also replace the battery if it's low, good luck.
