check sound driver installed in device manager or if stopped working after update roll driver back
  1. In Device Manager, locate the device that you want to roll back the driver for. Note: Navigate through the hardware categories by clicking the > icon. You can find specific devices under these major hardware categories.
  2. After finding the hardware you're rolling back the driver for, right click on the device's name or icon and click on Properties.
  3. In the Properties window for the device, click the Driver tab.
  4. On the Driver tab, click the Roll Back Driver button.

E1505 laptop, no sound after windows update for sigmatel audio driver so far nothing works. Dell and windows and sigmatel seem to be blowing me off. all of the things I have tried have been a big wast of...

You may be able to roll back the driver to the previous one. Depending on which operating system you are using, right click on my computer and click properties. If xp then click on hardware tab and click on device mamager. If vista or 7 click on device manager on the left side of window that pops up. Then click on the "+" next to sound then double click on your device. Click on the driver tab and click on "roll back driver". Follow instructions from there. If you cannot click on that button it means you cannot roll back and may need to do a search or the driver and install it manually.
Hope this helps!

My pc no sound but there an icon of audio.

Its quite possible that you have more than one audio output device. Integrated and Non-integrated. 1, make sure audio plug is plugged into the right sound device and port 2, If you updated your sound card or any recent updates from mircrosoft its possible the new drivers will make it seem to work but really they don't. go to start, right click on Computer, go to properties, and then look for the advanced tab (xp), or device manager to the left (vista+ users) go to sound, video and game controllers. right click on the sound device and go to properties, click on driver tab, then roll back drivers. if it says there are no drivers to roll back to.. try the other device if theres 2 audio devices and try to roll back that one.

Pls help - my sound card driver is not working properly when i ply files on winmap show a error massege- baddirect sound driver. please instal proper drivers or select another device in configuration....

You can try going into your sound driver and selecting properties. Try rolling back driver. If that doesn't work, go to device manager, select sound card, uninstall device, reboot computer and let windows reinstall the device. At that point windows should load its latest driver.

Sound

Hi Again Mark,
Try rolling back your sound card drivers...I've had issues with Microsofts' updates, especially with AC97 stuff. If rolling back the drivers makes your sound come back, your next step is to go to Microsoft Update, and choose the 'Custom' search option. Once the list of available updates is shown, find tha one pertinent to your AC97, and click the little + sign next to the update. Then check the "Do not show this update in future" box, and you SHOULD be okay.

Can get signal from UA-25 to computer... but no audio from computer to UA-25?

Here is one solution uninstall the default driver or roll back driver. Restart your computer. When you get into windows wait for everything to load and then plug in your audio device. If you have it plugged in when windows starts then it will install a driver. In automatic updates you can select to notify of updates, but lets you install the ones you want.

Thanks for using Fixya

Not d perfect sound..

go into your device manager and click on the sound devices re install the driver. go into control panel click on sounds icon choose the windows default theme . that should give you sounds if not try re installing the sound card. go to your control panel device manager uninstall sound card restart your computer and it should automatically reinstall the sound card with the proper device driver if not go to windows update to update . you should try windows update first as when you format it rolls back all your drivers to before update status.
