Re: fuse size

I don`t know the machine but if you`ve got a multimteer or an ammeter, connect the meter across the fuse connector and read the current. If it reads 200ma, fit a 250ma fuse into the socket. If you give it about 50-100ma above the reading, you`ll be fine. Ian

Where can i buy a power transformer for Sansui 3900z ?

Let me took it somewhere for repair, and they told you it had a bad transformer and they couldn't fix it (after they took your money). Sansui began life as a transformer company, and unless something really silly was done (like replacing the stock fuse, which is probably 3 or 4A with a 15A fuse of something). I might mention that 'some' units sold for various locations have a thermal fuse installed internally to the transformer. I dunno if your model has this or not. I mention all of this because often times the phrase 'it has a bad transformer' is lame techspeak for 'I don't wanna fool with this thing'. If it blows the mains fuse on power up, then the most likely fault is that it has blown power transistors at the output of the amplifier. If it 'really' has an open primary winding in the power transformer, then it may well have a thermal fuse that has opened. Gary Brown in Orono, ME has fixed a few transformers for me with this issue. Google can help you find him.

Your filter capacitors in the power supply section are to blame and they need to be replaced.

I have a Sansui 2000A Stereo Tuner Amplifies that powers up but has no sound. the fuse for the 220-250V 2A was blown and replaced. The speaker fuses look good. Should I replace them too or is there...

If the fuse was blown on the 220-250 V side, I am assuming that you are in the UK, if you aren't , but are in the US, change the power setting dial/switch on the back to 100-120v and you might be good to go. Also, I know this may sound silly, but make sure that the speaker selector switch is pressed in or set to a speaker set ( A or B). Love the Sansui gear, have many complete systems myself!

Sansui stereo remote

the above mentioned make and model # unit is a tuner, not a reciever, as a tuner, it's only function is to recieve radio signals, there is no internal amp, no selector switch for other components.

Blown Fuse / SX - 205 / Pioneer reciever

Check the area where the fuse's usually marked on the board or next to the fuse holder. Check the size also, 2 types 5x20mm or 1/4x1 1/4 in. Usually slow blow.

HTR-5280 Receiver Fuse Blown

the fuse rating should be printed at the back near the fuse holder itself. If it opens the fuse again and again probably you have a circuit loading problem in the receiver...either one of the amps is failing.

I have a Sansui AU-717 Integrated Amplifier that needs some work done on it. Is there a Sansui service center in Washington State that can work on this?

This company is not like they used to be. You can try the links below to see if you can find authorized service for your set.

Historic information about Sansui:

I would personaly suggest to find a service center or a very good local tech who can do audio amplifier and reciever service.
