The reason you have to turn it on/off several times before it comes on is caused by weak capacitors in the power supply or ballast circuit.the on and off action warms up (so to speak) those caps. they need to be replaced,if you look inside the set you can find the power supply by following the a.c cord , they are cylindrical shape standing up, the bad ones often have a rounded top and may have leaked on the circuit.values on these look like i.e 330mfd/35v good luck

My LG 42LC2D 42 inch TV will not show a picture. The "input" button on the TV and the remote will not select an input. No picture. The motherboard was replaced a while back. I want my TV to work. I have tried everything I can think of from cable replacement/HDMI to swapping cable boxes. My TV will not work and I don't know why.
