Re: linksys wirless g broadband router

The easiest thing to do to fix this problem is to reset the router. After you reset the router, it sends everything back to manufacturer settings, which allows you to reset your password. Another thing to do, so that you do not have to do the previous suggestion, is to log onto your router from your computer, or a computer connected directly to it. Go to the wireless option, then wireless security, and that will show you the password/key that you setup to get to your wireless network.

I forgot my paswordhow do i reset it

Username: Admin or Administrator
Password: <Blank>, try just pressing enter or try "admin" as the password as well.

If this does not work and you believe the router is using the default username and passwords try viewing the default settings at
Resetting your router

If the default username and password doesn't work it's likely you or someone whose setup your router has enabled a password that has been forgotten. Thankfully most routers will have a small pinhole button on the back or bottom of the router (like that shown in the picture to the right), pressing this button in and holding on this button for 10-15 seconds will hard reset the router. After this has been done setup the router again and enter a username and password that you can write down.

hope this helps

I want to know, what is the rigth wirless computer adaptor for ,2wiremoden at&t wirless.

Determine the wireless standard that you need. Different wireless routers support different wireless standards such as 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n (most recent). Keep in mind that each of these standards may differ in transmission rate, frequency, bandwidth, or even backwards compatibility.

Like with most computer products, manufacturers advertise wireless routers with an emphasis on speed. After all, more speed is better, right? Well, maybe.
Most broadband customers in the U.S.-and even many other countries-currently have Internet speeds under 10Mbps. In other words, a router promising much faster speeds is not going to make your Web surfing or movie downloads any faster. The router can't go faster than your broadband. For (super lucky) broadband customers with speeds above 30Mbps, you may benefit from enhanced wireless g routers (more on that in a moment) or wireless n, which has adequate overhead to share a connection this fast.
A faster wireless router can increase the speed of your local network, meaning sharing data between your own PCs will benefit-if this is something you do, such as streaming music or video from one device to another inside your home.

The 2700,2701 and 2070 are fine on installation because do,nt rquire any OS.The 100/1000 only support Win XP and MAC.For my selection i choose the 2700.

Also other will be fine for your adapter. The major wireless router manufacturers are Linksys/Cisco, D-Link, and Netgear. You will see these brands dominate in most retail stores. Look for sales because these manufacturers often discount models from week to week and you can sometimes find a good deal for substantially less than $50.

Adding a computer to wireless at home

1) Go to the computer that is connected directly to the Linksys router.

2) Open up Internet Explorer (or your favorite browser).

3) In the address bar, where it says "http://www...." clear out everything in there and type in the following numbers:

Press "enter" on your keyboard. This will open up a dialog box asking for your username and password. Try leaving the username blank, and type in "admin" for the password.

Now you're in a web page that controls your router. Look for the Wireless section, and make sure wireless is enabled. Check for wireless security as well, because you may need to enter a long number in your computer once it finds the router.

If you still need more help, feel free to ask.

You should have an RJ-45 cable connected from your ADSL modem to your router's internet RJ-45 plug then download network magic or similar software to input your user name and password on the router. this way you'll have internet even if your computer is turned off.

SMC7901BRA Modem + Router Cannot connect

The Linksys router can be communicated with by going to Start>Run>type '' and when the logon screen appears use 'linksys' for username and 'admin' for the password. There you can reset defaults, view status, configure all router functions, et al, including restore defaults. Pressing the little reset button has reset levels that vary with the amount of time it is pressed -basically discharging a capacitive charge. Remember that cable modems use DHCP whereas DSL uses PPPoE. ~Steve

D-Link DWL-G510 Connected but no packets

According to the user guide for your motorola broadband modem it doesnot support wirless capability , ie it can only hook your computers to the interenet using the wire. refer the following link

What is required , is additional pair of hardware ie.
1. Wireless Router(eg linksys or netgear)
2.Router/broadband modem(given by the ISP)

Your connection would then be configured through the wireless router , that would give you wireless capability.

Refer to the following link , it gives you the a step by step guide to setting up the wireless connection .

Best of luck .....

PS Do let me know if you need more assitance.
