I just bought my first computer. After the tech set it up and left I used it to become familiar with Windows. Then I did not have the time to reuse it for about a month. All I get is the same "power save mode" message on monitor then it goes blank.
Can anyone provide an answer as to why this occurred and what I can do about it? It's a barnd new HP 6130 Pavilion desktop.
Why do we need these machines if you can't control them? Nothing in the limited problem guide for the PC even addresses power save mode. HELP!!!!!!!

Envision monitor works on poewr but doesn't continue.
From the Envisiondisplay.com website's FAQ:
QThe power light of my monitor is on and the color is amber, but there is no video or display. What is the cause of this?
Your computer may be in screen saver mode, it has instructed the monitor to go to power saving mode, or the the monitor's video cable is not properly connected to the computer. Another possible cause of this is a locked-up or in-operative computer since the computer is what supplies the monitor with all the display data or information. Move the mouse or press a key to de-activate the screen saver or power saving mode. Check the monitor's video cable and make sure it is snugly connected to the computer. To see if the computer is operating properly, press the CAPS LOCK key on the keyboard repeatedly while checking the CAPS LOCK light. If the light is not turning ON & OFF, the computer is non-functional. Contact your computer manufacturer for help.
have you tried turning it on in safe mode? The F8 key at the top of the keyboard should give you that mode. Once you turn the computer on, continuously press F8 until it switches to safe mode-then go into 'control panel' and check settings for your monitor.
To bring the computer out of the power save mode press the "Windows" key once and release, wait one second, then press enter. The system should come out of power save mode. The Windows key is the key with the Microsoft Windows Symbol on it. Another solution would be to disable power management. To disable power management, right click on the desktop, click on properties, screen saver, then Energy Savings Settings button. Change all the settings to "Never", then click on "apply" and "ok". Power management has been disabled.
1. please check by pressing num lock or caps lock key to verify that your machine is booting up, if yes then check the cable and if after changing the display cable it doesnt show up anything, it means you have a faulty unit
2. if numlock/caps lock key doesnt work, then your machine is not booting up, please check for loose ram etc.
Hold down the function key on your keyboard (lower left hand side of your keyboard between the control key and the windows key) and the F8 key simultaneously. This cycles through all monitor set up modes.
Try wiggling the Cord on the backside of the monitor.. Not the Power Plug Cord, The Other Cord that attaches to the PC. Do this once the monitor turns off , grab ahold of the cord about 2 inches from the back of the monitor, then bend the cord to the right, keep bending from the right to the left a couple times to see if your screen comes back, if it does, than you have a Loose connection and this sometimes causes the Symptoms you are receiving.. Hope it helps.
Check the pins in the monitor cable and the connector in the back of the pc aren't bent.
Have you any way of checking the monitor on another pc or laptop to check that it's not faulty.
If you have a seperate graphics card (this will be in a seperate slot away from other connections) check that it has not become unseated or push down on it gently, incase you diturbed it on connection.
Do you get any beeps on start up?
